In my previous blog post I asked the question, Is this going to be the future of learning? The question was prompted because of a free online course that was opened up by Stanford for thousands of students. In that post, I wondered whether this course was going to be a game changer in learning, whether academic degrees will become irrelevant and, whether free education can help anyone get a world class learning.
My thoughts have been validated today when I came across a blogger, Scott Young, who is half-way through his experiment of completing an MIT 4-yr curriculum of Computer Science in 12 months. Scott Young is all for free education which seems to have changed his life. His self-education project is titled “The MIT Challenge. Learn 4 Years in 12 Months. No Classes”
Check out the video of week 21 into his challenge.
Thanks for reading, have a great day!
