Tim Ferriss’s book, “The 4-Hour Chef: The Simple Path to Cooking Like a Pro, Learning Anything, and Living the Good Life” is the third book in the 4-hour series. If you have not heard of Tim Ferriss then let me tell you that I am a huge fan of Tim Ferriss and so you need to take this review with a grain of salt.
I have been a Tim Ferriss fan since I read his book, “4-hour work week“, back in 2009. I have subscribed to his blog and have been following him on Twitter too. I bought into the hype of 4-hour body and purchased the set with the vitamins, subscription to evernote and some other freebies. Tim Ferriss has a great following and great marketing tactics. If you check amazon as of today, the “4-hour chef” has 1,511 reviews with a 4.5 rating.
Tim Ferriss is a master at gaming the system and so the 4.5 rating with 1500+ reviews could easily be one of Tim Ferriss’s marketing ploys. I personally do not think this book deserves such a good rating.
Anyhow, coming back to my review, I bought this book on Kindle, in the same week or month that it was released. That was back in 2012 and I am positive that I did not buy this book to become a chef. I wanted some easy tips on learning to cook healthy. I remember reading the book immediately after buying it but do not remember finishing it.
The reason why I am blogging about it today is that I am planning to start eating healthy. There are many books out in the market but this is a unique book written by someone who taught himself to cook in the easiest manner possible. Here is one of the quotes from the book that I liked the most.
In The 4-Hour Chef, I use chef in the most literal sense, like the Spanish jefe. Derived from the Latin term for “head,” it signifies boss or leader. This book aims to make you self-reliant, whether in the kitchen or in life: to wrestle control from chaos, to feel like a director instead of an actor, and perhaps to create something bigger than yourself.

If you have a kindle, download a sample and check it out. It is not only about cooking but also about learning.
Thanks for for reading and have a great day!
